As these AI-driven phishing tactics become more convincing, the risk of account takeovers significantly increases, posing a substantial threat to organizations. Once attackers gain unauthorized access to accounts, they can initiate more extensive cyberattacks, amplifying the potential damage. The regulator’s data reflects this growing threat, as account takeover incidents surged from 607 cases in 2024 to 1,742 in 2025, underscoring the urgency to address these vulnerabilities.
Additionally, the authority recorded 39,407 data breach notifications throughout 2025, highlighting the formidable cybersecurity challenges currently confronting businesses and public institutions.
