The Netherlands has issued yellow weather warnings for the regions of Limburg, Zeeland, and South Holland as Storm Austen approaches, bringing with it wind gusts of at least 75 kilometers per hour. These strong winds are predicted to impact the southwestern areas and the hills of Limburg first on Friday evening, before extending across the rest of the country overnight. Coastal areas may experience particularly strong gusts.
Looking ahead to Saturday, weather conditions are expected to improve slightly, with fewer showers and some periods of sunshine, although the winds are anticipated to calm. However, this respite may be short-lived, as heavy rain and stronger gusts are forecasted to make a return by Saturday evening.
On Sunday, the strong winds are expected to persist, especially in northern parts of the country, which may also see showers. In contrast, southern regions are likely to enjoy more sunshine, offering some relief from the stormy conditions. Despite the unsettled weather, temperatures throughout the weekend are projected to remain cool, not exceeding 13°C.
