Trump accuses Canada of supreme court ‘interference’ with ad

President Donald Trump has accused Canada of attempting to interfere with US supreme court hearings, citing this as the reason for terminating all trade talks with the northern ally.
The president’s claim, made on his truth social platform, was aimed at an ad sponsored by the province of Ontario. The ad featured a 1987 clip of Ronald Reagan warning against tariffs.
Trump alleged the “fake” ad was a “fraudulent” attempt to influence the upcoming November 5th hearings on the legality of his global tariffs. “Canada cheated and got caught,” he posted.
The ad was launched by Ontario premier Doug Ford to build US public support against the 35% tariffs on Canadian goods. It quoted Reagan saying, “trade barriers hurt every American worker.”
The ad has also been disavowed by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, which stated the “selective audio” “misrepresents” the full speech. Secretary of state Marco Rubio confirmed all negotiations with Ottawa are now suspended.
